Why Does Wood Veneer Paint Change Color?

Wood veneer paint discoloration can occur due to various reasons, and it is essential to address these to maintain the quality of our products.

Analysis of Causes:

1.Poor ventilation conditions and high internal humidity of the wall, especially when the baseboard is medium-density fiberboard (MDF) without a sealed primer on the back.

2.In bathrooms, the wall where the wood veneer is applied may not have moisture-proof treatment, leading to paint discoloration.

3.The quality of the paint itself may be questionable, and the painting process might be flawed.

4.Improper technical operation can also cause discoloration.

Preventive Measures:

1.Ensure the room is well-ventilated, and the baseboard back is sealed with a primer to prevent moisture absorption.

2.For bathrooms, use high-quality multilayer boards for the base of the wood veneer, and ensure the back and edges are sealed with paint. Any on-site processed wood veneer should also be resealed with paint.

3.In areas prone to moisture such as kitchens, bathrooms, balconies, and pools, proper moisture-proof treatment should be carried out (using waterproof wax recommended by the wood/stone management center).

4.Control the painting process and quality of the paint, and improve the painting technique to avoid quality issues caused by uneven spraying.
